What is supervision?

Supervision is the process of an experienced and qualified Certified Trauma Recovery Coach overseeing, guiding and mentoring newly certified coaches in order to assist them in developing exemplary coaching skills.

Do you need supervision?

All coaches need to meet a criteria of receiving a certain number of hours of supervision the first time they renew a certificate at any level:

Initial Certificate: 25 hours of group supervision combined with 5 hours of one-to-one supervision OR 35 hours of group supervision

Advanced Certificate: 25 hours of group supervision and 5 hours of one-to-one supervision

Supervisor Certificate: 5 hours of one-to-one supervision with Bobbi Parish, the IAOTRC's Executive Director

How do you get the supervision you need?

Supervision is offered through the IAOTRC in two formats: group supervision and one-to-one supervision. Group supervision is held twice a week and consists of an Advanced or Supervisor level coach leading a case review or demonstration of practical coaching skills. One-to-one supervision is offered by Trauma Recovery Coaches with a Supervisor level certificate. You may choose to work with any Supervisor credentialed through the IAOTRC.

Does it cost anything to get supervision?

Group Supervision is FREE to Certified Trauma Recovery Coaches.

Fees for one-to-one supervision offered by our Certified Supervisor Trauma Recovery Coaches are set by each individual coach and may vary.
